Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce that the 23rd General Meeting of the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS) will be hosted in Vienna, Austria, on September 23-26, 2026.
In line with ISOLS’s mission to promote research, education, and clinical practice related to musculoskeletal tumors, and to improve patient care related to limb salvage interventions, we, the Local Organizing Committee, are working hard to develop a scientifically rich and stimulating program. This program will cover all aspects of musculoskeletal tumours and limb salvage, bringing together experts from various disciplines to foster collaboration and intellectual exchange.
Vienna, the capital of Austria, offers a wealth of history, culture, and beautiful architecture. As a leading city for both its artistic heritage and modern advancements, it provides the perfect setting for a conference of this magnitude. The city is known for its rich cultural heritage, including famous landmarks like the Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and Schönbrunn Palace, as well as world-class museums, restaurants, cafes, and a vibrant arts scene. Vienna is also called the “City of Music” due to its musical legacy, as many famous composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Schoenberg, Schubert, and the Strauss family loved and worked here.
The ISOLS 2026 General Meeting will serve as an ideal platform for physicians, scientists, engineers, and other professionals to come together, share ideas, and discuss the latest advances in limb salvage. This event promises to be an enriching opportunity for networking and intellectual growth in musculoskeletal oncology.
We invite you to participate actively in creating an interesting scientific program by submitting your abstracts and by sending us your ideas for topics, workshops and interactive sessions, ensuring the success of the 23rd General Meeting of ISOLS. We look forward to welcoming you all to Vienna, Austria, in September 2026, for a memorable and productive conference.
Warm regards,
Andreas Leithner

Dear esteemed Colleagues, engineers, researchers and friends of orthopaedic oncology,
As the International President of the International Society of Limb Salvage, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to our 23rd Biennale Scientific Meeting.
This 2nd yearly gathering serves as an orthopaedic oncology beacon and a look into the future for professionals in Orthopedic oncology, engineering, and related scientific research disciplines. The meeting unites us in our shared commitment to advancing patient orthopaedic oncology care and meeting for innovation. It builds on a long history since the first meeting at the Mayo Clinic.
Our program will be meticulously designed to showcase original scientific presentations, offering insights into the latest research and developments at the intersection of our fields. These sessions aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, inspire innovative solutions, and ultimately enhance outcomes for patients worldwide.
In addition to the rich scientific content, we have organized a series of social functions to encourage networking and the exchange of ideas in a more informal setting. These events are integral to building the professional relationships and community spirit that drive our society forward. The part of this meeting we treasure the most, catching up with colleagues and sharing time together and stories of clinical happiness and sadness in patient care to help our burden of responsibility.
Your participation is invaluable, and I am confident that together, we will make this meeting another resounding success.
Let us embrace this opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate, as we continue to push the boundaries of Orthopedic oncology and engineering.
Welcome to the ISOLS 23rd Biennale event.
Warm regards,
Prof. Peter Steadman
ISOLS President
